Can kids with asperger's syndrome 'like' or 'fall in love' with anyone?

Question: Can kids with asperger's syndrome 'like' or 'fall in love' with anyone?

Sooo I'm only 13, but there's this guy I've liken for a long time. He's 14 and he's really nice. He acts like any other normal person, and we laugh at the same stuff and he always tries to get my attention. I recently found out he has asperger's syndrome. It feels kinda weird liking a kid with it, but I like him a lot. (likee, butterflies in your stomach when you just think about him :3) I already told him I liked him, or rather someone did it for me. Do you think its possible that he could like me back and we could go out? My friend told me he didn't, and I kinda expected that. But I meann, idk if there's anything special with people with this disorder. Thanksss =] Yeah, and I reallly wanna talk to him about it but I'm kinda nervous and I'm afraid it'll be too akward...

Yes, people with Asperger‘s syndrome can like and love people, just like everyone else. They may not always show their feelings much on the outside though, but that does not mean that they don‘t have feelings. It is possible that he likes you back. I think you should go ahead and talk to him and check if he would like to go out with you. :) One good thing to keep in mind though, for successful communication with him, is to say what you mean and mean what you say. People with Asperger‘s syndrome are usually not good at picking up subtle cues or reading into people, so it‘s better to be clear and say what you mean, rather than expect him to guess in the gaps. Good luck and have fun! :)

He can absolutely like you back! Having asperger syndrome just means he might not be able to pick up on social cues as easily as you. Don't be shy to talk to him about it :)
