I'm 13 years old, I have an IQ of 137, I'm very antisocial, people think that I'm weird because of the way I act, I find it very easy to remember things such as phone numbers, dates, song lyrics, I'm having therapy because I'm depressed and I find it hard to make eye contact with people. I also have a history of mental health in my family. There is many more than this but I don't like to list it. It makes me feel uncomfortable talking about it. Thanks in advance, Becky- Jayne By the way, I have only had one option session with my therapist so we haven't done much yet.

Those aren't the traits that doctors look for when they diagnose. Not all people with Aspergers are antisocial or "weird, " they're just delayed in communication skills. I have Aspergers and let me just say if you weren't consciously having extreme social/ communication problems your whole life before you heard that this condition existed, there's no need to worry about being mentally disabled. There are far more people in the world who remember things easily, do well in school, etc than there are people with Aspergers.

That doesn't mean you have aspergers. if you did, your counsellor probably would have noticed and referred you by now

As an agoraphobic(fear or discomfort of being outside or crowds of people) my friend terry has asperger's and ill tell you one thing now, he does not socialize at all, he does not know how to because of aspergers, more or less its just a chemical imbalance within the mind retarding(im not calling you a retard sorry if it came off that way its just a figure of speech) the skills valued as sociable with out being uncomfortable
