Is it possible i'm on the autism spectrum?

Question: Is it possible i'm on the autism spectrum?

(Posted by: tash42 on 2009-06-03 17:01:54)

I have exhibit quite a bit of 'weird' behaviour and I took the Baron- Cohen Autism Quotient test and scored 38 (more than 34 is apparently an 'extreme' score). I don't quite get it! I was being entirely honest on the test, but in real life I don't tend to seem that abnormal to people - not enough to be called autistic. I guess you could say I'm high- functioning. But is it possible to be slightly autistic and a lot of time seem pretty much normal? (My main problems are anything to do with social occasions and people / not understanding what people are feeling / obsessions with specific things)

Yes it is possible. I am not sure how old you are but you are old enough to write out that question so I am going to guess you are not a child any more. IF that is true then you would have gone your whole life "learning " how to adapt and fit it to what society thinks is normal and that is all they would have trained you to do if you had been diagnosed early on. So embrace your uniqueness -- being weird is cool! I am right there with you!!!

If you really think this is true do a little research on Asperger's. It could be that you are 'on the spectrum', most likely towards the 'normal' end. There are many thing you can do to help yourself.
