I was saddened at first, and I was unsure of myself. I had depression long before I knew I was on the autism spectrum, though. I'm still bitterly unsure of myself, even more so than I was before, but I am not depressed overall. I've had an AMAZING life, all things considered, and I ultimately would not trade who I am. There are people that would be brokenhearted if I were suddenly typical.
