Question: Can a dan! doctor make the diagnosis of autism?

There are no neuological or genetic or chemical tests for autism. The only way to diagnose autism is to observe behavior. All you have to do is look at the DSM IV under Autism, and you can diagnose it yourself simply by matching up the symptoms. A DAN doctor can do it sure enough, but he or she will charge you an arm and a leg for the same thing a social caseworker can do.
