Start here: nami.org Guess I could elaborate on that a bit more. They are a free service. Look them up in your area. They should have a local NAMI chapter that you can call. They can help you get treatment, because they setup groups that are free. They can also connect you with resources that are free or for people with insurance, medicaid too. They are very knowledgeable about mental health resources in your area.

You can call Medicaid to see who accepts Medicaid in your local area. You could also call local Mental Health Centers or the Department Of Psychiatry at a hospital to see if they accept Medicaid. I hope you find the help you are looking for.

In the phonebook under: Counseling Mental Health Psychologists Psychiatrists Most advertisements say whether or not they take medicaid, but most do. Psychiatrists prescribe medicine. Psychologists do not, they provide talk therapy, behavioral therapy etc.. Counselors are less expensive and you will be able to see them more often than psychiatrists or psychologists.
